Emmy has just learned about the mysterious group of powerful beings that call themselves her family. But they've been around since before Harrow County ever existed. Through the eyes of a haint, masterfully illustrated by guest artists Carla Speed McNeil and Jenn Manley Lee, this issue explains the Abandoned's past and reveals his connection with the family, including the enigmatic Amaryllis.
The one-page backup story by Tyler Crook (with art by Aud Koch) is intriguing/beautiful as usual, putting Harrow County #18 back in the title's 2015 form. The book still has a way to go before I consider it one of my favorites again, but this was a great first step. Read Full Review
The problem with this issue is that it can't stand on its own. It is solely an interstitial chapter in the ongoing tale that is Harrow County. As part of a larger story of Emmy coming to learn more about herself and the world around her it is fine. Read Full Review
