Golden and Mignola's cautionary tale here sits well as a single shot issue, you do not need any prior knowledge of Baltimore or the Outerverse. Imogen of the Wyrding Way was an entertaining book. Seems like this is an anthology series so the next issue will be a different story. I kind of wish it would be it's own series if it is an anthology, it had good story elements and the writing was great. The art seemed a bit too light compared with its dark themes and adult contact. It had a great story but felt more like an episode, with some story parts just being shoved in there. Still the magic is cool and so is the concept.
