Masterminds #5 is a satisfying conclusion to this mini-run that leaves a crack in the door should the team return for more. It wraps up in a unique way that truly feels like a mystery thriller-type ending. All in all, this series was a smartly written mystery with twists and turns at every page turn. The art captured the mood and lighting, playing with our minds and I would love to get more! Read Full Review

Masterminds #5 is a damn near perfect ending to a phenomenal series. The finale, much like the rest of the series, is thrilling and unpredictable. Everything about this book hits, the art, the story, the drama, and all the other intangibles. If you’ve been following this series, I promise you will be pleased with this final issue. If you haven’t been following this series, make sure you get a copy of the Trade when it drops on October 20th, 2026, and see what I’m so hyped about! Read Full Review

Masterminds #5 succeeds in delivering a tense, satisfying finale while remaining true to the themes that made the series so compelling in the first place. Kaplan expertly balances character motivation, conspiracy, and surprise, culminating in a final issue that constantly shifts the reader's expectations. Edward's need to win remains the emotional and narrative engine of the story, elevating the twists beyond mere shock value. Combined with Thompson and Rocha's effective visual storytelling, Masterminds closes this chapter with confidence while leaving the door open for future games to be played. Read Full Review
