General Gentiss plan to take over the fledgling Empire and depose the Emperor and Darth Vader is nearly complete. All that remains is to lure Grand Moff Tarkin to Coruscant and capture him.
This has been one of the best Star Wars series to be released in a while and was easily one of the best all around comic events this year. Anyone who missed out on this should go down to their local comic shop and pick up all these issues. Luckily mine is really good at keeping back issues in stock. The art here is killer too. Darth Vader comes across as a mindless order taker for much of this series. However, you don't survive at the side of the Emperor for as long as he did, with the number of failures he's had, without some tricks up your sleeve. This book highlights some of them while telling a unique and entertaining story. The book introduces a ton of characters and makes use of some of the under-used ones from previous comic book series. "Darth Vader - Ghost Prison" #5 is a wonderful installment for Star Wars fans looking to understand the legend of Darth Vader. His dedication to the Empire, his cunning in battle and will to overpower his foes is without compare, and Haden Blackman provides a story showcasing all of that. The concept of telling stories of things that happened between Star Wars Episode III and Episode IV is nothing new. But completely compelling nonetheless.
