A new series comes to Dark Horse's Star Wars line! After its special sixteen-page May preview on starwars.com, Star Wars: Invasion continues in print!
This series is set twenty-five years after the Battle of Yavin. The Jedi, and the galaxy, are facing their first real threat since the Sith were defeated: an invasion of hostile warriors called the Yuuzhan Vong.
The forces of the New Republic and the fledgling New Jedi Order stand ready to face the invaders, but they've never seen anything like the Yuuzhan Vong! Luke Skywalker is about to discover that it's not his galaxy anymore . . .
Overall this was a very strong start to what I hope will be an excellent series. I personally can't wait to see where the continuing story of Luke Skywalker goes and to see more of Wilson's skillful art. As we get more explanation and depth regarding the story and the interesting villains introduced this looks like it has the potential to be a must have comic series. Read Full Review
Overall this is a really good first issue to a new series. I think Star Wars fans will enjoy this issue and will get to see another side of the universe while keeping connected to what they’ve seen before in the movies, novels, and comics. I’m looking forward to seeing how this first arc plays out. Read Full Review

There's a strange excitement to that sort of singularly Star Wars kind of setup and "Invasion's" is a fine interpretation of the trope. Read Full Review
I don't want to sound like I hated this issue, because I didn't. Taylor has a winning premise on his hands. For now though, the story just lacks the depth it needs to make good on that potential. I'm glad to have a more visual glimpse of this era of Star Wars for once, but it's going to take more than that for this project to stand out from the pack. Read Full Review
While the artwork fit this issue, and elements such as the Yuzzhan Vong and such seemed solid, the story itself seemed to miss a bit. During the battle, Luke makes his appearance of dozens of Vong corpses, but the best Jedi had trouble defeating even one Vong this early in the prose series. The sittings and characters may be a little to "alien" to the casual reader. Even Star Wars fans might find issue with some elements of the story. This and some of the clich characters make me give this issue one and a half out of five stars. Read Full Review
