British Intelligence officers Steed and Peel have arrived in Gotham with the White Star Diamond on their minds-and they’re not the only transatlantic visitors in Batman’s city.
Short and sweet, it hits all the right notes and makes for a lean, engaging chapter. As early as it may be to call, the first two installments of this crossover show that the creative team have a great handle on both properties, with Edginton in particular demonstrating a terrific ear for dialogue and voices. After the first chapter of this miniseries, I was fully prepared to tell everyone to jump on the trolley, but this issue is a bit of a step backwards. It's not necessarily bad, but not enough happens to get me excited...except maybe Peel flirting with Robin. That had me VERY excited. The issue ends with some Cybernaut action that has me excited for the next chapter, but until then, I can only recommend this chapter to those Avengers/Batman '66 fanatics out there. I'm not going to give this issue as bad of a rating as last month's because the execution of the story is at least broadly competent this time. However, I wouldn't recommend this mini like I did with the Man from U.N.C.L.E. or main Batman '66 title. Read Full Review
