I grew up reading a ton of one-off Batman stories and getting more like this is definitely good for me. I'm just not into the big arcs and him as a primary character these days as I've preferred the fringe Gotham books like Gotham By Midnight and Gotham Academy. But what we get from the team here is something that can draw me back to the character with simple detective tales, shows of intelligence, good action sequences, and solid use of the villains as well. It may be a somewhat predictable story but we've got what, seventy years of Batman stories? Predictability is baked into it. Credit where it's due - while the first issue of Batman: Gotham Knights felt woefully insubstantial despite the A-list talent attached, this sophomore installment shows there's plenty of storytelling potential coming from names you might not be familiar with yet. Batman: Gotham Nights #2 does exactly what I was looking for. Michael Grey and Ryan Benjamin deliver a Batman story that adds layers to the Clayface character. In doing so we get a fight that has greater meaning than just another hero vs. villain fight. If you are a Batman fan and looking for fun a new story that takes place in Gotham City than look into picking up Batman: Gotham Nights #2. Read Full Review
