Blue Beetle squares off against Green Lantern Kyle Rayner and the New Guardians! If Beetle and the Lanterns don't kill each other, the bounty hunter packing Oan technology will be happy to do it for them! Continued in GREEN LANTERN: NEW GUARDIANS #9.
Blue Beetle #9 isn't a bad book, just one that doesn't quite get it's act together, feeling like a middle chapter and earning 2.5 out of 5 stars overall. The art is okay throughout, and Jamie's embarrassed blurting that he's "not aroused, it's just the armor" were cute, but there's not quite enough "meat" to the proceedings to get the book much higher than an average grade. Jamies search for "a superhero friend" gets interesting. This issue made me look up New Guardians, which made me look into the Green Lantern stories of the New 52, which didn't interest me that much before. Now I'm reading all through Red Lanterns, Green Lantern (Corps) and New Guardians. Thanks, Jamie.
