It's all hands on deck for the final battle against the powerful entity who has been lurking underground and wreaking havoc on the entire city of El Paso. Will the combined efforts of a rejuvenated Blue Beetle, Ted Kord, Doctor Fate and even special guest star Omac be enough to bring down this ancient menace? The outcome will signal a major turning point for Jaime Reyes and his friends and allies.

The conclusion of the issue is quite effective. Im sure it will be a very minor spoiler to reveal that the villain gets defeated. One can almost always be certain of that happening, eventually. What makes this ending work well is that this does not prove to be a pure victory. The characters, particularly Jaime, are really in a much worse condition than they were before the triumph. It definitely makes one need to keep on going to the next issue. Read Full Review

I'll admit that I found the previous Blue Beetle titles a bit boring, but this title is anything but. Giffen and DeMatteis have made Blue Beetle an interesting and exciting character again. As such, it definitely fulfills the Rebirth mandate to make reading DC's comics fun again. Read Full Review

After the last issue of Blue Beetle I was really starting to think that this series was on the right track, but this issue seemed to take a wrong turn off that track because the majority of this story seemed to be a filler fight scene that really went nowhere, until it had to rush towards its cliffhanger that felt forced.  The art was decent though and I still hold out hope that this series can be something worthwhile in the future......... this issue just wasn't that great though.
