Mariko Tamaki's unique spotlight on the teenage lesbian Czarnian with a whole lot of issues has been a slow burn, but in many ways it feels like this issue is what it's been building towards. Read Full Review

    Weird Science - Jim Werner

Mariko Tamaki continues meandering about with Crush and Lobo, and while the issue looks great, nothing is going on storywise.  We are halfway through an eight-issue mini, so why does it feel like we have barely gotten started?  Oh well, I will hold out hope that the second half is where Tamaki will shine because I like both Crush and Lobo, just not Crush & Lobo. If I didn't like Crush before, I'm starting to like how she's reacting to everything. It's almost slapsticky in how ridiculous the situations get. Plus, Crush does it all with a purpose in mind. She knows enough on how to take advantage of a situation and present it in such a crazy enough way to work. Not that it makes her situation any easier, but it raises the stakes by a bit because Lobo's going to be one big challenge and she's going to have to pull out all of the stops.

This is a good issue, but not much happens. Tamaki writes an engaging story, but I'm not sure we needed eight issues here.

Not a big fan of Mariko Tamaki but I liked this issue. Great art, and I like how the story is progressing and Crush is going to confront Lobo.

Reviewing the fourth issue of Mariko Tamaki making me regret wanting a Lobo comic. He's been around for a few decades now, but I don't know if Lobo will ever be used in comics again after all of these terrible stories. https://youtu.be/SaWMmct7L4s
