Guest-starring MIDNIGHTER! A voice is calling from the Himalayas; a dark secret awaits Grifter. He tracks it down, only to discover that the secret has a protector: Midnighter, who must not allow Grifter to leave the mountains alive. A massive battle on treacherous ice slopes shows Grifter that he's in a world of heroes he cannot defeat and opens him up to new world-changing secrets as deadly as they are powerful.

I am still enjoying the Grifter title, but Im actually ready for something new with the character. Edmondson does leave us on a couple of interesting notes as Grifter comes up with a new plan to stop the Daemonites which sounded interesting. However, with Edmondson only having one issue left Im not if its an idea that will carry over into Leifelds upcoming run. I will end with one great thing about the issue (and this is not a spoiler since its on the cover of the next two Superman issues). We get to see Clarks rendition of Helspont and his arrival in the DCU! Its a nice lead in to Superman #7 and I cant wait to pick it up! Read Full Review

The art? Well, it's always great. The story? Well, pick one note and sing it over and over. Sometimes your voice cracks and sometimes you sing like an angel. As much as I liked about this issue I just couldn't help but be disappointed that Grifter still is developing to his full potential. Midnighter may have been an air freshener for us, but in the end it's still the same ride. Hopefully the story takes a turn for the better in #8 because I'm not quite ready to turn in my badge, but I am definitely on that brink. Grifter isn't down for the count yet, and who knows, next month I may be telling everyone to pick up the series, but Grifter #7sits in the middle of the road for me at 2.5 out of 5 stars.
