A BLACKEST NIGHT tie-in! Greg Rucka (DETECTIVE COMICS, CHECKMATE) joins original THE QUESTION series artists Denys Cowan and Bill Sienkiewicz for the return of Vic Sage! The Black Lantern rings have made their way to earth and disturbed the grave of the original Question. Now, the faceless man returns as Black Lantern Vic Sage targets his former protg and current replacement Renee Montoya. It's the Question vs. the Black Lantern Question vs. Lady Shiva in the ultimate throw-down!
That being said, the issue features Rucka, O'Neil and Cowan all returning to the world of the Question, so it shouldn't be too much of a surprise to learn it's well worth the cover price. Seeing Cowan team up with Sienkiewicz was a real treat. They recapture the look and feel of the original series. Not only has the familiar grit returned, but the fighting too. The Question was known for its fast paced fight scenes. With ONeil co-scripting, this issue felt like a passing of the torch to Greg Rucka. Im more anxious than ever to see a new monthly Question series starring Montoya. The back-up feature in Detective Comics just isnt cutting it. Read Full Review
But how often do you get a superhero story asking existentialist questions and featuring kung fu battles and reanimated corpses? I’ll deal with it and give this one a very solid B. The return of "The Question" for this "Blackest Night" tie-in is an entertaining and clever read, but can't escape the formulaic pattern of every other tie-in issue. Taken alone, it reads much better than when put in context with the event. For fans of the Question (either one), it will surely entertain. Read Full Review

You know what? I give up. I don't even know what more to say... Now if you show no emotions, you're invisible to Black Lanterns? Since when?!? I can recall Etrigan showing no emotions, and still having Black Lanterns attacking him. Whatever... I can see that each writer is going to make up their own rules as to what a Black Lantern can and can't do, instead of following Geoff Johns already established rules on Black Lanterns.
