In order to take down Queen Bee, Wonder Woman must go through Silver Banshee, The Blue Snowman and Giganta!
As it is with the best issues in this title and last years Wonder Woman: Agent of Peace series, the creative team in issues 11 and 12 seem to have been pulled out of a parallel dimension where theyve been working together on a Wonder Woman title for a couple of years before arriving at this issue. DC is clearly working with enough talent to do several Wonder Woman titles. Read Full Review
This two-part storyline was pretty fun overall with what it wanted to do in putting Diana up against an array of opponents and getting it all done on Paradise Island. The setting worked nicely and they managed to keep most of the Amazons out of the picture for a lot of it so that it was up to Diana to save everything. The fight sequences are mostly montage style when you get down to it but the artwork looked great, the flow of it all was fun, and seeing how Queen Bee basically has to give up any chance of winning in order to save one of her own is a nice little nod. #11 and #12 are a two-part story once more. While the dialogue suffers at times because of over exposition, the overall story makes up for it quite well. Pelletier’s art isn’t quite to my tastes, but it truly shines once #12 kicks off a couple of fights.
Not the strongest story of this anthology, but not bad either. I wish this could have been a true arc, where moments could have been fleshed out.
Overall, it’s a nice showcase for various Wonder Woman villains. Maybe a modern Villainy Inc., is finally in reach.
