But Halloween proves to be just as spooky a holiday a thousand years from now as it is today, because a horrible new threat has awoken thanks to Supergirl's arrival. And that horrible new threat's name is Satan Girl! Brainiac 5 has a plan, but it may come at the cost of shattering his potential romance with Supergirl!
And on top of all that you get the nearly perfect art by Matt Camp. Marco Rudy has a rougher less polished style which might work from a story point of view but when the art changed, it was a bit jarring. The Legionaires are usually my least-favorite characters in the DC Universe, so I'm doubly-pleased that this one-shot was able to turn what I normally dislike about them into a strength. More specifically, I've always found their peaceful future to be a touch boring but this story used that to play on the more fairy tale, almost Picaresque, aspects of their world for a genuinely charming story. Plus, I'm really curious to see where Brainiac's love-fueled plan will lead. Read Full Review
This issue proves above all else that there's plenty of potential to be had in the romance between Supergirl and Brainiac 5. With Gates departing the series soon, it will have to fall upon his replacement or Paul Levitz in one of his Legion projects to keep the fires of their passion stoked. Read Full Review
