While there is a catch, Verheiden gives we readers so desperate for the return of Helena Wayne, the "real" Huntress, what we want. This issue of Superman/Batman is carefully plotted tale that's exuberant in its celebration of what was, meaningful to these characters--even those who never existed--and self-contained. Overall, and I cannot emphasize it enough I suppose, this is just a fun book. It's also a great starting point for people to jump on to this title. Verheiden appears to be the right choice to take over, and I'm really looking forward to what he has planned. And, if new regular artist Ethan Van Sciver needs a break, Kevin Maguire is the perfect choice to fill-in or as an alternating artist. Did I mention how much fun this story was yet? Read Full Review
This is a horrendous start for the new creative team on Superman/Batman. I know that Verheiden probably had no control over this issue. DC's editors probably decided what they would do with this issue. But, this is still a terrible start for the new creative team. Therefore, I'll give Verheiden a couple of issues before I decide to drop or keep this title on the Revolution's permanent pull list. I will admit that with Van Scriver doing the art that I'll probably be pretty happy with what is coming next. Read Full Review
