Barbarella #2 does an awesome job of building on the story from issue 1. Blake Northcott is expanding the world and not only continuing the initial story arc, but also building up whats to come. There is a perfect amount of action mixed with some witty comedy throughout this issue. Northcott is creating a great alternative to the usual hero story. Read Full Review
There have been a few different attempts at exploring Barbarella on the comics page since she was inteiduced over half a century ago. While the current series isnt exactly inspired, it is definitely enjoyable for a number of different reasons they dont seem to be expiring towards that kind of depth. Its nice to see them maintaining the appeal of an old and spacefaring venture hero. It would be nice to see them move off into more thoughtfully rendered a satire. All of the basic elements are there. Its just a matter of finding the right balance of comedy and drama, to make it work. Theyre not quite there yet. Read Full Review
This comic is for readers who enjoy campy sci-fi and nostalgic, 80s-inspired storytelling. The stunning colors and stylish designs make it worth a look, but the lackluster writing and stiff action might deter some. If you're in it for the visuals and quirky humor, it's worth the purchase; otherwise, you might want to skip this one. Read Full Review
