This issue does a marvelous job of continuing to introduce us to the team, well also moving the story forward. David Pepose really taps into the humanity of the team and the reality of throwing strangers together with all the challenges that it brings. At the same time, he shows the beginning of the character arcs for some of the Planeteers. Pepose as always does amazing at showing the real human drama within the characters he writes. CAPTAIN PLANET #3 is a sugar rush of eco-heroics that refuses to slow down for pesky things like subtlety or character growth. It's fun, chaotic, and high on spectacle, but thin on nuance. Fans of the original show will appreciate the effort, but anyone looking for a well-written or thoughtfully-paced story should look elsewhere.
