Beware Morgana's crystal ball! For within, there are visions of... uh, water? Oh wait, Darkwing's teammate Neptunia is from the water - maybe that means something! But what? Without Launchpad's compass to guide them, the Justice Ducks are all at sea. Will Darkwing be able to get over his own ego (unlikely) and ask for the help he so crucially needs to find the compass and save the day? Read on (in September) and find out!

It's a delight to see Drake bouncing off other characters here, hero or otherwise, and the storyline seems to be ramping up into some interesting directions. Read Full Review

The search for Launchpad's missing compass continues without any new leads as Darkwing Duck #9 offers a middle issue in the larger arc primarily centered around the terror who flaps in the night getting more and more agitated. However, news of a crime spree in St. Canard forces Darkwing Duck back home where the new thefts shine a light on his search. Read Full Review

    The Comicbook Dispatch - batfan1992 Sep 27, 2023

Darkwing Duck#9 , for the most part, is frankly disappointing. The Justice Ducks arc is being drawn out too long focusing more on in-fighting and personality clashes that any sort of fight against villainy. At this point, it wouldnt be surprising if there ends up not being a villain. This story arc is lackluster at best compared to previous Darkwing comics. Its disappointing because with more heroes, youd expect a greater threat worthy of their combined forces, and theyve just been bickering amongst themselves for three issues in a row without a trace of any villain in sight. Hopefully the story will improve, but it doesnt seem likely. Read Full Review

DARKWING DUCK #9 treads water in an issue about nothing when Darkwing Duck moves from place to place at random while steadfastly refusing help. Deiberts story is going nowhere, but Lauros art is excellent. Read Full Review

This issue was okay. It had its moments of amusement, but was rather slow with hardly any action to it. Darkwing's biggest battle was an argument with Neptunia. When I heard this arc was going to feature the Justice ducks I was hoping for something a bit better, as the original Justice Ducks story was my favorite episode of the old show.
Despite being a rather dull issue, Darkwing remains one of the best books out there today. And good comics are so rare nowadays we need all we can get.
