But Why Tho? - lizzylynngarcia Dec 26, 2018

Rainbow Brite continues to be a delightful adventure that feeds the nostalgia which is so popular right now. Reboots are all the rage and similar to She-Ra, Rainbow Brite keeps true to the source material but successfully updates it for the modern reader, young and old. I highly recommend this book to fans of the originalseries but also anyone who enjoys She-Ra, Hilda, or similar stories that focus on the whimsy of childhood and colorful adventures. I Review Comics Jan 20, 2019

Rainbow Brite #3 gives us our first legit fight sequence for the series as our heroes do battle with Murky & Lurky. The issue has a nice blend of humor, action, and suspense.

Wisp isn't a perfect protagonist and it's clear that she's finding her footing in this series. I appreciate that Jeremy Whitley has created a hero with real insecurities. In too many cases in modern comics, the character is presented as the best and brightest in the room and the only qualifier is that they are the lead character.

The only mark that I have to the series is that I believe that the comic would really benefit from having a traditional artist pencil the series or go into full-on nostalgia and use the art style from the 80's. more
