The greatest tales, the best creators, brought to you in beautiful black, white and red!
PHIL HESTER throws Sonja into the dangerous den of a deadly religion...
AMY CHU and ANTHONY MARQUES return to Red with a thrilling adventure...
JACOB EDGAR and GIORGIO SPALLETTA spin a tale of talents, as various killers of different disciplines challenge Sonja, only to realize every weapon they wield is no match for a She-Devil...
The fun of a book like this is that we get three very different tales that are all authentic to who Sonja is, but they're just so wildly varied. I really enjoyed the comedy installment more than I thought I would based on the first page of it but it hit a kind of style and cheekiness that hits well. Avallone's opening story feels very Japanese at times while what Bob Q presents is something that you want him to have a full hardcover original graphic novel to play with for the character. Really good stuff that's really easy to recommend even if you've been jaded by so many Sonja stories in the last few years. It's a must-read series. Read Full Review

RED SONJA: BLACK, WHITE, RED #6 is a better-than-solid entry in the series with stories filled with action, adventure, and an occasional chuckle. Some of the shorts are stronger than others, but they all accomplish what they set out to do without a lemon in the bunch. If youre a fan of this series so far, youll be happy with this latest issue. In “The Daring Rescue of Crown Prince Maximilian (Beloved of All The Peoples),” Red Sonja is hired by emissaries from the Kingdom of Levkoy to rescue their captured prince (who turns out to not be exactly what our hero was expecting). And following a fortune told, Red Sonja journeys to battle a giant who (along with her arrogance) was said be her demise in the appropriately titled “The Giant.” Read Full Review
This was by far the best all-round issue in the series so far. Three very different tales that worked equally well and each with stunning art that suited the story. David Avallone's story was a rescue mission with a twist at the end that didn't disappoint. Shannon Watters wrote a funny story about an imposter taking credit for Sonja's work and driving the She-Devil into a rage as a result. Bob Q gave us Sonja facing a seemingly unbeatable foe and using her wits and skill to come out on top. Bob Q and Jonathan Lau are two of the very best frequent Sonja artists in recent years, and Ro Stein's art reminded me of Sergio Aragones but with a more realistic spin and with a ton of background jokes.
Avallone/Lau - 9.5
