Were there a little bit more of a contrast between the hero, the setting, and the conflict of the plot, the series could be really appealing on a whole bunch of different levels. As it is, however, there simply isn't enough of a connection between the visuals and the darkness of the story. There needs to be more of an integration to provide the kind of disconnect needed to make this story really feel all that coherent. Its fun, but theres a feeling of disconnect between Sweetie and the multiple homicide that still hasnt become totally clear as of the end of the sixth issue. Read Full Review
Though I felt not much of significance happens in Sweetie Candy Vigilante #6, we do get an entertaining battle of wits between Sweetie and Detectives Jacks and Reyes, as well as some nice moments between Pixie Stix and Candy Wolf. The book is always a fun read and I look forward to seeing what happens after this issues great cliffhanger ending. Read Full Review

Aaaaa this was pretty cool! So this comic is a promotion for a band by the name of Osaka Popstar, you even get a free mp3 to download to listen to the song. Kind of cool to see Dynamite promote a book like this. Anyway, the comic is about Sweetie, a well meaning but unhinged woman of relation to the Candy Man myth. She wants to make the world a sweeter place and she’s starts in her hometown of NYC. Her methods of persuasion are candy canes, pixie dust, licorice ropes as she melts faces and slices and dices the “not nice” from a bar in this chapter.
