    Because it emphasizes confrontation and violence (of course), The Shadow: Year One #3 is the best issue of the series since the first issue. In fact, this third issue is a big improvement over issue #2, which writer Matt Wagner used to establish what are likely to be the dominate plot lines of this miniseries. That was a dialogue-heavy issue, with an emphasis on establishing the personalities, conflicts, motivations, etc. of the cast " besides The Shadow.     I will say that the transition between parts of this issue felt a bit choppy, it felt like those 3 parts to the story were a bit rushed. Aside from that we have the villain of the story introduced, Dr. Zorn, and that should create an interesting conflict to come. Read Full Review

    I had been assuming up until this point that he mysterious voice pushing the rival gangs into battle was that of The Shadow. This issue reveals the identity of a new villain, Dr. Zorn, whose abilities are eerily similar to our hero (although his methods are quite different). Worth a look. Read Full Review
