Oct 29, 2025Disney Villains: Maleficent #1 gives a little depth to Maleficent’s character than the previous series did, and makes more connections to the original movie. Maleficent is power-mad and this story seems to be leading us (and Maleficent) on a journey to power, perhaps showing the destructive consequences of having such a craving for power and control. It is unclear whether we will see Maleficent interact with other characters from the movie such as the 3 good fairies or King Stefan. Nevertheless, it shows Maleficent is blinded with power, not caring about any consequences she may face. What further surprises might Maleficent encounter in the fae realm? Read Full Review

I really hoping to like this, but shoe-horning this story in the middle of Sleeping Beauty doesn't work. The twin ghosts helping her find new magic is also a let-down. The artwork is barely passable. This is a one-and-done for me, which is unfortunate since the character has so much potential. My Comic Review Channel - https://youtu.be/YF303vjqQe4
