Disney Villains: Maleficent Vol. 2 #1 is a beautifully wicked return for the Mistress of All Evil, mixing fairy-tale charm with dark ambition in a way that feels true to the character's legacy. With an authentic voice, imaginative worldbuilding, and accessible visuals, it's a spell well worth falling under, especially for Halloween. Read Full Review

Disney Villains: Maleficent #1 gives a little depth to Maleficent’s character than the previous series did, and makes more connections to the original movie. Maleficent is power-mad and this story seems to be leading us (and Maleficent) on a journey to power, perhaps showing the destructive consequences of having such a craving for power and control. It is unclear whether we will see Maleficent interact with other characters from the movie such as the 3 good fairies or King Stefan. I really hoping to like this, but shoe-horning this story in the middle of Sleeping Beauty doesn't work. The twin ghosts helping her find new magic is also a let-down. The artwork is barely passable. This is a one-and-done for me, which is unfortunate since the character has so much potential. My Comic Review Channel - https://youtu.be/YF303vjqQe4
