Gargoyles X Fantastic Four #1 offers another excellent, if slightly overstuffed, story that features the best of Marvel's First Family and the Defenders of the Night. Read Full Review

While Gargoyles x Fantastic Four #1 is a fun crossover that fans of both properties are sure to enjoy, the pacing makes it feel rushed and the dialogue is confusing at times, making the story difficult to follow. There’s a bit too much going on. Crossovers are fun, but when there’s too many characters and too many things happening, it ends up becoming a dull story. Lockjaw’s inclusion seemed unnecessary, especially since none of the other Inhumans joined him. He just felt like a convenient plot device. The story does wrap up nicely in a way that leaves it open for more. Would you want to see another crossover between these characters? Or see the Gargoyles meet other Marvel heroes? More of the same. Good art, solid characterization, but the story has too much happening to squeeze in as many ideas as possible. Did we need this twice?
