Evil, meet my sword! Sword, meet evil! Generations have passed since the original Heroes of Baldur's Gate saved the city and the Realms. Now a new threat rises and an unlikely group of misfits are thrust into adventure with MINSC, the legendary Ranger do-gooder with a heart of gold, brain of lead, and hamster of pronounced wisdom.
Max Dunbar is the artist here, with colours by John-Paul Bove and letters by Neil Uyetake. The bold and colourful artwork matches well with Jim's script and is also very appealing too. The comical expressions on Delina and Minsc's faces really help sell the humour of the script, and the magic scenes are also handled very nicely. And the hamster Boo is just too cute for words… so yeah. The art is overall very energetic, particularly since a lot of it revolves around either Delina running from a bunch of monsters or Minsc fighting them off, so there's that too. Read Full Review

I'm excited to read another one of Jim Zub's works. I'm a fan of Pathfinder, one of the earlier comics he's written which was published by Dynamite Entertainment. Both comics seemed to have a very similar storyline (other than they both being RPG's), but I'm hoping more plot will come from Baldur's Gate next issue. Read Full Review
But this does mean that this issue is not quite the rip-roaring adventure that you might hope for. Therere some fun moments, and it does look like its setting up some interesting stuff for future issues " but on its own, it feels a little sparse. It is, however, buoyed from going completely under by a fantastic characterisation of terrifically memorable character, so fans of the game will at least get a pleasant kick out of that. And if youre a DnD nerd, new school or old, theres a lot of smile inducing stuff to find here. For everyone else, maybe wait until theres more of it before diving in. Read Full Review
