The Super Powered Fancast - Deron Generally

Ward crafts a dark, thrilling adventure in this issue. I really like the pacing of the story as well as the resolution of Jennifer and Sara’s stories. I really like the tone and the immediacy of the action in this issue and how it beautifully serves as a prequel to the events of the movie with its epilogue connection. Read Full Review

A major plus for this issue is the epilogue that ends the book. This teases a new story/series to follow and really hypes up the reader for it. To come off a successful run and be able to switch gears and excite readers for what's to come is a real feather in the cap to Ward. I for one will be waiting for this next installment. AIPT - David Brooke

Event Horizon: Dark Descent #5 largely sticks the landing, delivering a grim, blood-soaked finale that understands what made the original film linger in viewers' minds: dread, guilt, and the terrifying idea that hell isn't just a place, but it's something you carry with you. Christian Ward and Tristan Jones lean into spectacle without losing sight of character, even if the story introduces a few last-minute cosmic curveballs that feel more like setup than payoff. Still, as a prequel and a bridge to what's next, Dark Descent proves this franchise has plenty of nightmares left to explore. Read Full Review

    Comic Watch - Theron Couch

Event Horizon: Dark Descent is a reasonably good prequel to the movie. Fans of the sci-fi/horror cult classic will find a lot to like here. And even though Event Horizon: Dark Descent #5 has a few visual stumbles, the issue overall is a strong finish to a good horror series. Read Full Review
