Originally conceived as a simple one-shot that was part of the larger Godzilla Vs. America series, the issue gained additional prominence in light of the L.A. wild fires. And...yknow...since history shows again and again how nature points out the folly of man, theyve decided that 100% of the proceeds from the issue is going to support wildfire relief through the Book Industry Charitable Foundation. Gonzo, Scott Hanna, and Heather Breckel's "Godzil-LA, which is kind of the people's tokusatsu history of L.A. as graffiti artists and film craftspeople from different L.A. neighborhood band together to take out the kaiju. Save for the fact that I couldn't read the fourth tale in this one-shot, I had a blast reading it. Godzilla vs. Los Angeles #1 is a clever and engaging one-shot that blends thrilling monster action with unique, localized storytelling. With three distinct stories from creators who clearly understand and appreciate Los Angeles, the comic delivers a mix of intense spectacle, humor, and historical insight. Each creator brings their own artistic and narrative flair, making this a well-rounded and memorable read. Plus, with proceeds going to charity, it's an easy recommendation for any Godzilla or comics fan. Read Full Review
