Some aspects of the IDW/Hasbroverse, like G.I. JOE, seem forced and trite in combination with the Transformers but Rom The Space Knight and his world are a far better fit for the "Robots In Disguise". Read Full Review

I enjoyed this issue much more than I thought. Rom and the Transformers on paper seem like a natural combination but in the hands of Gage, Barber and Miline you have a bonafide hit. Read Full Review

Wow, this is just great storytelling, straight up. I was thinking of skipping this series given how craptacular Revolution and Revolutionaries has been, but I have to give a big thanks to ComicBookRoundup for cultivating the positive reviews that convinced me otherwise. If you are a fan of other Transformers comics that IDW has been putting out over the years, then I highly recommend checking this issue out. It fits in nicely with the established Transformers continuity and you don't have to be a Rom fan to figure out what is going on and buy that they've always been hanging out there in the outskirts of the Transformers universe. In fact, I don't even think you need to be reading Transformers either to get into this, the exposition and setup lend themselves very effectively to new readers. I don't have any hangups recommending that any comic reader who enjoys sci-fi space opera give this issue a shot. This new Character, Stardrive, is promising to be a great character. I'm impressed with how three dimensional she already is considering she was just introduced in this issue for the first time ever as far as I know. I'm looking forward to the next issue, I wonder how many issues this series will go for.
