The Empire has fallen, and the Mustafarians celebrate. But they know they will never be safe as long as they live in the shadow of Vader's Castle. Two young boys decide they're going to destroy the castle themselves. But a wizened old Mustafarian tries to put them off by telling them tales to teach them the lessons they might otherwise have to learn the hard way.
Despite not being a part of the younger target audience and by no means a horror fan, I enjoy the Vader's Castle series every year. Overall,Shadow of Vader's Castle is a nice addition to the Vader's Castleseries. I was initially worried the one-shot format would take away from the secondary scary stories that are told throughout the series. However, it still works. Read Full Review
Yet another year of creepy and comedic tales about what lurks in the darkness of Vader's Castle, with its only drawback being that it didn't lean more into the horror component to fully embrace the concept and to set itself apart from what readers typically find in Star Wars Adventures. With an $8 price-tag it's hard to argue that you are getting your money's worth here although some of the art is intriguing ranging from Anakin's time in the castle just after his turn, to a mad scientist's experiments, to the state of the castle following the original trilogy. It's a bit hit-and-miss, but the right audience may find some fun here. Read Full Review
