"War World" continues! As the two new leaders of Cybertron's most dominant factions step into their new roles, one finds himself seeking council from one of the four Great Generals-for better or for worse. Meanwhile, the other is given council by his mentor, but it's been a long time since Megatron and Termagax saw eye-to-eye.
We see our two leaders finally falling into their inevitable roles in Transformers #26. Ruckley continues to do a great job characterizing and juxtaposing Megatron and Optimus Prime. After the action of the last issue, the dialogue-heavy panels of this issue feel a bit slow, but Im excited to see where the next issue leads. Read Full Review
Transformers #26is a nice breather issue that still delivers some great character development. Its examination of Optimus Prime and Megatron's growing power and how they each handled the responsibility is both interesting and in character with Ruckley's writing. The artwork from Malkova and Garcia is great to look at with its level of detail and only makes anticipation for what comes next grow. Read Full Review
With this current "War World" arc, political machinations fall to the wayside while the Autobots and Decepticons begin marshaling their forces and taking up arms for civil war. It's a welcome shift as, after 24 issues, the subterfuge and plotting started to wear thin. Yet, instead of being an exciting transition, the series is taking on such a familiar shape"the classic robot versus robot warfare that defined the original Transformers toys and cartoons -- that it feels like more returning to a status quo.
