COMBINER WARS FALLOUT! Because you demanded it-WINDBLADE and CHROMIA team up with ARCEE to put an end to the menace of the COMBINER WARS-but will they end each other first?!
A somewhat unnecessary yet fun, action packed book overall. Read Full Review
Great artwork salvages a story with intriguing promise but poor execution. Read Full Review
"Transformers: Combiner Hunters" is a one-shot that seems to cater to the readers of the main Transformers title. This issue introduces a new Combiner and gives some focused time on three of the female characters. The plot and execution leave a little to be desired but the comic is an okay enough read. The artwork helps to keep the pace up in this book and presents a nice story. Overall, this is a decent book but not an essential one unless you are tracking first appearances. Read Full Review
Characters were being thrown in, introduced by just their name and assuming that you already knew them, and I was starting to lose track completely of who was doing what or even what was happening in the first place. It quickly went from something that would stand on its own to just a side story in the main series that you need to be familiar with to understand what's happening. If you know the Transformers, your opinion of this might be different, I'm sure that it'll read differently, and you will probably like it. If not, there is an interesting first half, but the whole thing is just not worth it. Read Full Review
The Combiner Wars event was good, almost great, but lacked a certain amount of depth that the Transformers series are known for. I was bewildered as to why this one-shot was conceived in the first place, until I read the back matter; this simply functions to introduce and showcase a combiner toy that fans voted on. The artwork looks great, especially with the body language of the main characters, but the story is totally redundant, finishing right where it started. Scott does her best to make the plot interesting, and succeeds to some degree, but there is no getting around the fact that the bots making up Victorion have never been seen before and essentially come out of nowhere, their presence is not earned and more pages needed to be spent on getting to know these torch bearer bots.
