While this comic does nothing to advance any of the existing story lines, it is all great fun and it gives readers of the franchise an opportunity to see what happens then their favorite writers and artists are given the chance to go 'off the reservation' a little bit with their favorite characters. You do not have to be a huge Transformers fan to enjoy Transformers: Holiday Special. The first story may feel a little off, as dependent on cameos as it is. But the second and third stories will have you aching to see more of these characters in action. The three creative teams each managed to create a work with its own personality, and the result is something that feels like more than your average holiday special. Pick this up again and re-read it in a couple of months, and you'll see that the last two stories are still strong as narratives within the comic book medium. And then, you'll seek out every issue by these writers so that you can add them to your collection. Read Full Review

Three short stories. - First one deals with Starscream accidentally bringing x-mas to Cybertron. - Second deals with the Lost Light, in particular, drunken shenanigans involving Nautica, Swerve and Whirl and a X-mas miracle. - The third deals with Thundercracker flying at mach seven to the north pole to punch Santa. And everything ranged from delightful cute to downright hilarious. It was really an enjoyable comic.

-- CHOSE ME: A perfect fit for Corin Howell's art. It's cute, funny, heartwarming, and it rhymes! I perfect little Transformers Christmas tale. -- SILENT LIGHT: I think this is my favourite short story in this collection, it's funny that it's an accidental Christmas special through a series of derived coincidences. The story is fun and touching at the end. It also seems to be within continuity for Megatron, this one could easily fit within the canon of More Than Meets The Eye -- THE THIRTEENTH DAY OF CHRISTMAS: This one is the funniest, we finally get to enjoy one of Thundercracker's crappy screenplays and it's a hoot. -- OVERALL: A surprisingly entertaining Christmas special, you never know with Christmas specials, they are often disposable, but I'd recommend picking this up if you like the IDW Transformers comics.
