The writing is getting better and better but I have to say that it can be kind of slow at times. I mean the writer needs a little focus. I wasn't lying when I said that I was excited about this series, I just wish the writer would get some focus on one situation at a time. It can be a little jumpy. Overall, he is fantastic and I like it. Read Full Review

    All-Comic - Ian Stephen Dec 4, 2013

Of all Byrne's recent work at IDW, Triple Helix has been the weakest but that doesn't make it a bad series at all. Trio was a strong series and Triple Helix makes for a great sequel but it doesn't hold up quite as well as its own stand alone series. The idea of having different titled books still centered on the same universe is a great idea for Byrne but Triple Helix and Trio might just be too closely involved with each other for new readers. In fact it seems the main character for both books would be Three, a member of Trio. Three actually gets more face time then all the members of Triple Helix aside from young speedster, Dart. Maybe that's the point, maybe he's not making these for new readers so much as to satisfy his long time fans and using Triple Helix as an analog of the X-Men and Trio as the Fantastic Four, so he can still please his fans but also tell his stories without heavy involvement from editors. That needs to balance out to about 65/35 very quickly, or I'm just not going to care any more. If I want to see action sequences, I'll go watch old episodes of Dragonball Z. They're better drawn and much more intense. Read Full Review

    AiPT! - Sam Roche Dec 4, 2013

Both IDW and John Byrne have created far better works than this, books you should be spending money on and really enjoying. Semi-fun happenings and art without a substantial story just can't keep me interested in this book any longer. Read Full Review

Comics Bulletin - Chris Wunderlich Dec 10, 2013

I'm not sure what Triple Helix aims to be. It's not "old-school" enough to seem like a throwback and it doesn't do anything new. It doesn't really do anything at all. I don't know why it exists or why Byrne decided it had to be made. If you like your superhero team books bland and you can't say no to anything with Byrne's name on the cover, this might be for you. If you're anybody else, you should avoid Triple Helix #3. Read Full Review
