Aphrodite IX may not be on everybodys radar right now, but that should change. If not, the world of comic books is missing out on an incredible opportunity to be part of a really special series. Matt Hawkins and Stjepan Sejic have resurrected Aphrodite from the ashes of mediocrity and allowed her to rise to a whole new level of exciting and interesting story-telling. If you havent yet picked up your copy of #2, do yourself a favor and run back to the shop right now or you may regret it. Read Full Review

One Quest - Chris Cobb Jun 14, 2013

Aphrodite IX is a completely new franchise to me, so while old fans are going to have their own opinion, I feel for a fantasy sci-fi book, there aren't many better ways to go than this one. Read Full Review

Comic Bastards - Dustin Cabeal Jun 13, 2013

I dug the issue and I’m definitely enjoying the new series. Top Cow has slowly but surely begun to show that they are no longer the company they were a few years back. They’re shipping books on time and consistently and taking chances on new directions like this. Aphrodite may work in the Witchblade and Darkness universe, but she’s always worked better outside of it. This is a great return for her and I can’t wait to see what twists and turns the series has in store for us. Read Full Review

The Weekly Crisis - Ricardo Guajardo Jun 12, 2013

I enjoyed how not everything is what it seems and thus kicks off the next phase of the story. If there was one takeaway from the comic its that the cliffhanger really made me want to see the next issue despite my unfamiliarity with the comic. For new readers, I thought I didn't miss much due to the comic being the second issue of the series. That being said, if you are bold enough to try this comic out, you will be pleasantly surprised how entertaining this comic can be. Read Full Review

If you're into epic sci-fi stories, then Top Cow's latest series, Aphrodite IX, is for you. If you're not necessarily a sci-fi fan, but enjoy creative plot and character development teamed with eye-catching artwork, well, then this title is for you as well. Read Full Review

Despite walking the line between engaging sci-fi and none-too-subtle sexism, Aphrodite IX continues to show potential in its second issue. Read Full Review

Comic Book Resources - Kelly Thompson Jun 17, 2013

I tried "Aphrodite IX" on a whim (having a vague fond memory of the original series -- or maybe just a cover? -- from my youth) but what I found wasn't anything I'd come back for a second time. Too bad, as I've always liked her weird green hair, and the idea of cool killer androids is never far from my heart (especially when they grow self-awareness and a conscience), but there was really nothing of that in this issue except the green hair.
