'Blood Commandment' is a well-crafted story of familial grief, secrets, coming-of-age, and the supernatural. There are some excellent bones with this story, and the reveal at the end helps with the continuous slow-build, but it seems more open-ended with the debut issue that may keep some readers waiting for how issue two or three will be reviewed. Read Full Review

I'm looking forward to seeing where this goes. There isn't a whole lot of information yet. The art is pretty good and moody. The dialogue between father and son is good and the mystery of what the father is, is handled well. There are some wasted pages in the beginning doing almost a movie credit montage. This could have been left out entirely. I hope the story unravels well.

A solid debut. Well written and nice bit of tension. I might continue picking this up, but if I forget, I won't be to devasted.
