Tyler has to battle the Gun Club, beat the faculty's scheme to expel him and keep his secret identity safe at the school of Five Weapons. Not a problem for Tyler's devious calculations - except this time he doesn't have a plan.
On one hand, I'm stoked this book continues to feel like a breath of fresh air that someone of any age can enjoy. But on the other hand, there's only one issue left! As of right now, it does seem as though Robinson can juggle all of the key plot points in the final issue, but I'd be a liar if I said I'm not slightly concerned with the limited panel space left for this universe. Regardless, Robinson has absolutely earned my faith thus far, so I'm excited to see how this fantastic story concludes next month. Read Full Review
Five Weapons continues to be one of the smartest and best looking series out there. This issue lays it all out there as we race towards the finish line. Robinson does a lot of things with this issue and sets up what looks to be an ambitious finale. Issue #5 is absolutely a can't miss now. Read Full Review
This series has been a gem since the beginning and depending on the outcome of the next issue I would love to read another series if possible. Read Full Review
So far, Tyler has managed to learn secrets, keep secrets of his own (great subplot), make friends, and outwit each club. His final opponent is in the gun club. I'm eager to see how he gets out of the way of bullets and what happens next. This miniseries is definitely worth tracking down the back issues if you're late for Five Weapons class. Read Full Review
All told, “Five Weapons” isn't exactly following up on the promise it showed in its first and second issues, but it's still mighty entertaining and beautiful to look at. And with just one issue left, let's just look forward to Robinson sticking the landing as that intriguing subplot comes to light. Read Full Review
Keeping in mind this is a series more suited for a younger crowd, it's appropriately fun in certain respects, but Robinson's storytelling choices are questionable and puzzling for young and grown-up alike. Read Full Review
Sadly, this series has been pretty basic. I’m glad to see Robinson venturing into new territories and I still really like the concept, but it’s missing that special something to take it to the next level. Yes the next issue “How will Tyler survive” reveals are clever, but because we as the audience don’t have enough clues to guess it for ourselves it’s not as much fun. With one more issue left, I’ll be back to finish this puppy off, but if you’ve yet to start it then you might want to wait until it’s finished at this point. If you’re more into the concept than anything else then you’ll find some enjoyment, but it’s not going to blow your mind. Read Full Review
This comic kind of sneaks up on you as a reader. At first the reader is lulled into a nice sense of security with a feeling that everything is safe. Then Robinson starts introducing one thing after another that gives the comic a whole different energy than what came before. Read Full Review
