New Story Arc. "Happy End Game," Part One of Five. Gert saved Fairyland from a monster infestation and is being celebrated by one and all. Okay, well... maybe not all. Deep below the Inferno, in the bowels of Hell, an old rival is gathering an army of the dead to put an end to Gert. No one in Fairyland will be safe. A new arc of the hit blood-filled fairytale series starts here!
Gerts overall journey through her second series has been a great dea of fun. It would be all too easy for any writer to simply get lost in and amidst the weird amplification of everything and simply ignore all concept of character development and continuity. Fairyland IS pretty surreal and it would be entirely possible for that sort of thing to happen. Its nice to see Young and Bean echoing through the moment with a firmly-defined sense of progression for a titlethats just now wrapping-up its 9th year. It hasnt always been all that coherent, but its always been fun on some level. Read Full Review

Mostly standard fare for this book, I was waiting for the other shoe to drop the entire issue and something happen to cause the crowd to turn on Gert but it never happened. This issue was enjoyable and I'm definitely interested in how this story arc plays out. The art is pretty good, same as always. The writing is solid, thought it stretches my ability to suspend disbelief a little with the crowd even admitting all the bad things she's caused and still cheering her as a hero. Obviously anything goes in this book, but I just didn't quite understand it. I have a feeling it'll be explained later.
Fun comic as always. Hopefully, this is the final arc in this series. Not because it's not a good comic, but I just feel this title as ran it's course.
