Legendary creator MATT WAGNER continues the hotly anticipated third and final volume of his epic fantasy trilogy with MAGE: THE HERO DENIED.  Following a dangerous encounter with creatures from the faerie realms, Kevin Matchstick must confront his all-but abandoned legacy as the reborn Pendragon. How can he protect his family from the forces of dark magic if drawing on the power of Excalibur only further exposes him to their enemies?  Meanwhile, the sinister Umbra Sprite and its deadly offspring also continue their brutal and pitiless hunt for the mystical Fisher King.

The Fandom Post - Chris Beveridge Oct 24, 2017

Mage: The Hero Denied is certainly moving at its own pace and I can imagine some may be frustrated with it by wanting to get to the good stuff. But with such a wait between series I'm enjoying the slow immersion back into this world and its characters, and just to delight in more of Matt Wagner's artwork and to see how Brennan complements it and pushes him in new directions as well. This is a good regrouping and figuring out what's next moment all while knowing bigger things are in the offing with how it plays out. It's a solid entry that may feel a bit light as a standalone read but will be something that helps to smooth things in the bigger picture when read in full when the series is done. Read Full Review

I am enjoying this series a real lot. I recently read the First series that has just been collected for the first time (Mage the Hero Discovered), and from what I have seen from Matt Wagner we are building to something big. I'm excited to pick up this comic every month. This is a good slow, but not arduously slow build with enough action, humor, and fun to keep a reader interested.I think that there are some slower parts so that accounts for my rating, but overall this is a great series, and I look forward to the story developing as we read on.
