Capes & Tights - Justin Soderberg
May 17, 2026Of The Earth #1 is a debut issue that sinks its claws into you slowly, building on an eerie atmosphere that lingers. Chris Condon, Andrew Ehrich, and Charlie Adlard craft a haunting, character-driven story that feels as unsettling as it is gripping. Between Condon’s stellar storytelling and Adlard’s moody illustrations, this first issue lays the foundation for what could be one of the best comics of the year. Read Full Review

May 20, 2026Of The Earth #1 sets the mood instantly, leaving the audience feeling uncomfortable and dirty all the same. This is the perfect way to start a suspenseful horror story, and I’m hooked right away. This book should generate some buzz and be at the top of lists this week! P.S I already didn’t need another reason to stay away from Texas, but this book just adds another. Read Full Review

You Don't Read Comics - Russ Bickerstaff
May 19, 2026Condon states that his inspiration for the series came from Wylis Cooper’s brilliant 1949 one-shot radio drama “The Thing on the Fourble Board.” decades later it stands as easily one of the best audio horror dramas in history. Part of what made that story so haunting was just how very concise it was. Drawing on that for inspiration should prove to be interesting. There's clearly some kind of supernatural horror underneath it all. But for the time being, we're just getting to know, tabby. And whatever it is that she's going to run up against is going to have the potential to be very haunting if the authors can harness the right inspiration from Cooper’s classic. Read Full Review

AIPT - George Loftus
May 20, 2026I’m happy to say Image has another strong horror-tinged debut on their hands with a mysterious but likable protagonist set against an interesting backdrop, and the promise of supernatural horror that may be looking for divine retribution or possibly just deserved punishment. Either way, I’m in for a genre that usually doesn’t grab me. You should check out Of the Earth #1 Read Full Review

Comic Crusaders - Al Mega
May 03, 2026This is one of those books where the real horror ain’t just what happens it’s what might be happening. It’s what’s lurking under the surface. It’s what’s buried in that land, in that history, in those stories people stopped telling out loud. Straight up? This is a VIBE comic. This is a “read it twice” comic. This is a “sit with it after you’re done” comic. Read Full Review
