Fact: Martin Barker is the most dangerous man in America. Fact: Martin Barker is always two steps ahead of his opponents. Fact: As the Department of Truth makes a desperate play to preserve its existence, Martin Barker is about to change the face of the country forever.
And theres another conversation over coffee. (Tynions all about the coffee conversations...its...its kind of weird.) Department of Truth is a lot of coffee talk, which is strange enough to begin with...but then theres the fact that Tyhnion and Simmonds do a damn fine job of binding those conversations to the page in a way that feels deeply engrossing. The ideal moment to read an issue of Department of Truth might actually be over coffee in the morning given how often it features as a vehicle for conversations that go on in the series. It's not the best issue, but does seem to point the series in a good ending direction.
