    Barring that one small quibble, "The Intrepids" is firing on all cylinders, a solid little comic that should have a great future ahead of it. If you haven't been reading, pick up it up now and get on board. Smart, fun, passionate comics sadly don't come around every day, but this one fits the bill nicely. Read Full Review

    While Wiebe's story is fantastically quirky and all sorts of fun, it remains the art of Scott Kowalchuk that serves as the heart of The Intrepids. His thick inks and dynamic panels serve to call forth the pulp adventures of old, but deliver that classic B-movie sci-fi (giant robot squid!) and infuse it with serious personality. Despite the premise of the series, Kowalchuk has had limited opportunity to really cut loose with robotic tentacles, explosions, laser beams and fisticuffs. The world is kooky, and Intrepids #5 is the first issue that, artistically, takes advantage of that. Read Full Review

    While I rate the first two issues in this series as the best, it has not stopped me both enjoying and buying the rest of the series, and I suppose that is all that matters. Everything is more exciting the first time round, but I still had enough fun to keep coming back for more and I think you should too. Read Full Review
