You Don't Read Comics - Russ Bickerstaff

The specific relations between all four sisters has yet to really emerge, but as they are now united, it should be interesting to see all of them work together against the Ringleader. It’s going to be fun seeing that play out in the pages and panels to come. It’s been a deliciously weird fantasy in places. Hopefully Remender, Azaceta and Lopes are able to bring it all together with a satisfying ending. All four sisters have been united. This should be a fun dynamic moving forward into the climax. The Seasons #11 is the kind of issue serialized storytelling builds toward: one that answers major questions while opening the door to even bigger mysteries. Rick Remender and Paul Azaceta use the long-awaited reveal of the series' mythology to transform what initially appeared to be a family drama with supernatural elements into something far grander in scope. The creation myth at the center of the issue feels timeless, lending emotional and thematic weight to the sisters' journey while reframing the conflict as one with generational and even cosmic implications. The rapid pace and avalanche of revelations can occasionally leave readers scrambling to keep up, but the ambition and execution make this a defining chapter in one of comics' most intriguing ongoing series. I've been enjoying the hell out of Seasons so far. Fun comic. But this issue was a bit of a let down. Maybe my expectations was a little to high. I was really looking forward to seeing Spring being trapped in the mirror a little longer than she was. It was kind of a let down.
