With most of the issue being taken up by the battle, there are few story developments or character interactions to comment on. Kirkman does however throw in his trademark cliffhanger, and this issue's particularly suspenseful end might be one of the best we've seen from this series. All in all, this showdown was well worth the wait, and Kirkman is paying off the last, relatively uneventful arc in spades. It's a good time to be a Walking Dead fan, but the same can't be said of the main characters in this book.
