Too late to save this one.
I realize that things have been bad for Rick and Carl, but the latest installment really drives the point home. If you have been a little bit let down by the aftermath of #48, this issue should put all fears to rest that the series has lost its way. The storytelling is fantastic and the strange revelation is most likely going to stick with you until Kirkman reveals his hand about the true nature of the telephone conversations. Those of you who prefer it when The Walking Dead delivers high-octane, action packed arcs might not enjoy this current storyline as much as others, as it seems concerned primarily with focusing on Rick and Carl's emotional reactions to recent events. Those of us who love The Walking Dead primarily for its intimate attention to character, however, are likely in for one of the most powerful arcs yet. Read Full Review
The pacing of the book sure has changed from the prison yard, community theme that once dominated the spanning horizon. Now Im not really sure what the heck is going to happen. Consider Kirkmans no one is safe theme a win; I dont know what to think. Plus, the next issue teaser shows off an arm and sword that looks like Michonne. Im excited for that. Read Full Review
