As WHITEOUT readies to hit theaters worldwide, artist STEVE LIEBER returns to the adventure genre with a new thriller, pairing with acclaimed writer JEFF PARKER (AGENTS OF ATLAS, EXILES)! Park Ranger and avid caver Wesley Fischer is on a one-woman mission to stop Stillwater Cave from being turned into a tourist trap, but public opinion is not on her side. When locals begin blasting in the cave, Wes and a fellow ranger investigate - and a confrontation spirals into a deadly chase deep under the Kentucky mountains!
At the end of the day, Underground executes one of the most realistic concepts Ive seen in a comic. This unique comic is certainly worth the money and it will be interesting to see how the next four issues of this mini-series progress. Read Full Review
One has to give parker a lot of credit for this script, as he's been building his reputation in the comics industry for years on fantastic fiction, and especially with some playful, light super-hero storytelling at Marvel Comics. Underground represents a significant shift in tone and subject matter for the writer, demonstrating a greater depth and range on his part. I feel bad looking back thinking that this book wasn’t going to be something I checked out. Great writing, strong character development, good art, and a story worth reading is always something that I am in the mood to check out and Underground delivers. For those that were on the fence or might have missed this one I suggest you give it a second thought and check this book out – it is worth your time and money. Read Full Review

Parker and Lieber have got me hooked and waiting for more. Read Full Review

Steve Lieber demonstrates that he is more than capable of illustrating comical routines with a friendlier cast of characters. Read Full Review

If you are a reader who enjoys a story that revolves around good character work and strong dialogue then you should certainly give Underground #1 a try. Read Full Review
When all is said and done, Underground delivers a story with a pair of wonderfully developed leads. The adventure they are forced on has a sense of grounded threat that gives the book a feeling of authenticity, even while not fully delivering the overall sense of danger. Read Full Review
