Witchblade 178 is a great book, whilst it is part of a larger story as a whole, anyone can pick up this book and have fun with it. Fans will be pleased to see Sara put the Darkness and Jackie Estacado behind her and move on into the future with new stories and possibilities. The art sells this book though, Marz's writing is a fantastic as ever but, Braga's art really takes this book to the next level to make this issue well worth picking up. Read Full Review

Laura Braga continues to elate my graphical sensibilities every time a new issue drops. Her clear line work, bolstered by Top Cow editor Betsy Gonias colors, just makes for some of the most consistently enjoyable artwork in the biz. Ron Marz, whose run on Witchblade stretches back to 2004, clearly still has many stories to tell within this universe, and its an absolute treat to be able to watch his work unfold with such capable and enabling collaborators. It's very bizarre the way Rooney's jacket changes colour from magenta to purple and back again, how does that happen? Aside from that the art looks good. The story is alright, fairly short because the issue is essentially one fight. I like it, it could just benefit from a little more substance and character.
