May 06, 2024The retro/modern art mixed with clever color palettes create a dynamic visually experience. While there is a solid foundation, the lack of connection to characters from the readers hold this story back. Noir-ish crime stories like this aren't exactly my bag, but something about this made me want to give it a shot. Even the art isn't the type I usually appreciate, but it worked for this book and I enjoyed the story. Has a slight "Sin City" meets Guy Ritchie vibe, and those are two things I can definitely appreciate.
