Another issue that manages to be entertaining enough but once again leave me with the feeling that there's something missing. I mean there's some fairly big developments in this issue as a key character in the story executed, and another character dies of the injuries they received in the previous issue. However, there are a few too many sections of the issue where the characters are discussing elements of the story rather than actually taking part in it, as most of our heroes spend the issue on a ship traveling to the New Lands, and the only action in this issue results from the Grand Inquisitor's escape. I'm also a bit concerned that we only have one issue left in this tale and the story still has a great deal on it's plate, which leaves me concerned some plot elements be resolved by returning the time traveler to his proper time rather than receiving a proper resolution. Theres one more beat to play in this darkening story, and signs point to it being a bravura display of Gaimans talent. His take on the Marvel universe got off to a slow start, but hes picking up all the threads hes been laying down, at an ever-increasing pace. Read Full Review

An excellent set-up for the final part of this tale, which throws some unexpected plot developments into the mix and begins to tie up a lot of the loose plot threads dangling in this title. Much will depend on how the final issue plays out, but there is a sense that the climax of 1602 is going to be spectacular - and will likely make or break the series. Read Full Review
