(Cover Date: September, 1987) Summary: In Pittsburgh, Spidey web-slings his way to his hotel. Smythe has his crated Spider-Slayer loaded on board a 747 bound for Pittsburgh. Peter goes to Gayle's home & finds MJ with her estranged father. They leave after an argument, & MJ tells Peter about the stolen manuscript scheme that her father & sister are involved in. MJ decides that she is going to help her father. In prison, MJ walks away after talking to Gayle. Peter convinces Gayle to help MJ. MJ & Peter retrieve the manuscript at its hidden location at Duquesne University. The Spider-Slayer finds them there, & Peter leads it away as Spidey.
