CIVIL WAR tie-in: THE WAR AT HOME! Spider-Man's about to embark on what very well might be the most important offensive of the Civil War that's rocking the Marvel Universe.
Since a lot of focus was given to Cap and not Spider-Man, I cant say that this is a great Spider-Man book, but in the context of Civil War, I think this is a must buy. It presents a part of Cap not seen in the main CW title, and tells a damn exciting story about Spidey. Read Full Review
Another tie-in issue of Amazing Spider-Man and another issue that fills the gaps in and around the issues of Civil War proper. Theres nothing wholly new or unexpected there. But the assassin hired by the Kingpin to take out Peter (or if hes unavailable, his family) might just turn the next issue into the most important event in the webslingers life for a long time. Amazing Spider-Man #837 was another mediocre read. JMS continues to stun me with his Civil War storylines that continue to be shallow and fails to engage the reader in any type of critical thought. I cannot wait for JMS to either get his act together or to leave this title. If you enjoy being preached to then Amazing Spider-Man is definitely a title that you will enjoy. Read Full Review
